Thanks to all who took the time to reply. You have given me a lot of good information, and I'm probably going to do my shopping and make a purchase next week. A lot of your responses coincide exactly with what my friend has told me. You've made it easier to make an informed decision.

One last thing, talking isn't like doing. Try as many bows as you possibly can. What we, or your friend, think is appropriate may not be ... for you. Fit and balance is everything in a crossbow; and a good trigger is even more important. Good luck
