Well...I've got feathers...on my medieval bow arrows...ah...bolts.

But I've got plastic vanes on my modern crossbow arrows.

I've also switched to the short (2") vanes. The arrow can end up farther in the target without having the vane...all wrinkled up in the foam !

From some work experience...I'd be willing to bet that with the higher speed bows...those long vanes flutter pretty good during their travels.

I'm trying some of the other brand short vanes too.
