Default Improving accuracy

Just discovered (RE-discovered?) a significant accuracy issue:

Suffering from my CB's recoil, I installed a VERY thick and pampering shoulder pad. (actualy, it was a stuffed Snoopy puppet ). problem solved. However, accuracy was crapy (didnt make the connection at the time).

Now I changed to a thin foam pad, and PRESTO! groups shrinked by 50% !

Apparently, the soft pad allowed the CB to move on recoil, and that movement changed dramaticly from shot to shot. probably due to how hard I grasped the bow, and how hard it was pressed againt the shoulder.

The surprise is not the effect itself, but how significant it is. Take it into consideration when wearing heavy clothing.

Default RE: Improving accuracy

holding crossbow until the arrows hits target is always a good thing.

doing same things over and over builds confidence.

i just finished a bass tournament and took 2nd place .

i fished right down bank behind others and caught bass.

afterwards i was asked how i did it,CONFIDENCE,others took 6 fishing rods with them ,threw many lures and i took 2 rods, 1 i used, other i have as spare.

i spent 6 months using SAME ROD and same LURE,over and over.i LEARNED to use that LURE.

same with shooting a crossbow,at first i could not put arrow almost in same hole at 30 yds,i did at 20 yds over and over.

NOW,i can put arrow almost in same hole at 30 yds over and over..

why, CONFIDENCE doing same thing over and over and using what i learned on here by experts, made it real easy.
