same satisfaction as bowhunting?

I will attest to what Dan says about crossbows being harder to shoot offhand. With my compounds the first 3 to 5 starlings I shoot at are dead at 30 yards. With my crossbow they all live. JimC had described a test where they put an LED on compound bows and crossbows to illustrate the ablility to hold on a target. The compound was always the hands down winner over the crossbow in anyone's hands.

I find bowhunting to be more satisfying than hunting with a rifle. Mainly, I like the challenge of powering my own hunt rather than pointing and pulling the trigger. For those of you who bowhunt and also hunt with a crossbow, and particularly if my preference is something you identify with, can you tell me if you feel a similar level of satisfaction from crossbow hunting that you do with a bow? I'm thinking that I might like to try it out.
Thanks.

I've hunted with everything! As I got older, the weapons got more high tech. The more bells and horns, (can't spell whishles, whisies, whissles, SEE!) the better for me. BUT, when it's archery season, there isn't anything more intent at that time for me. Then when it turns black powder season, there isn't anything more intent for me. Then when it's gun season, there isn't, well you know. When I'm in my stand hunting, the weapon I have and the season that's in is the only thing on earth right then. I mean, if my truck blew up, I wouldn't care. If my dogdropped dead, I wouldn't care. If my computer locked up, well then I'd be screwed, I'd come down my stand and fix it or something. LOL

Limbs,string,arrow======BOW.........
I hunt with all 3-4 types of bow,yes I have rifle hunted but my last was 1982,tried BP one year(still bow hunted)then I also tried pistol(still bow hunted)I allways go to my bow,This will be my 25th year of bow hunting last year I had shoulder problems then surgery in Oct,during this time thru the help of all the good folks on this forum I purchesd 2 crossbows,10point Pro Fusion compound and a Excal Vortex recurveso I could still bow hunt.I was quite surprised how hard they are to shoot off hand and the weight really keeps you from stalking for too long....DO I LIKE CROSSBOWS.....ABSOLUTLY Wont give it up.DO I like Vert compound ?Absolutly, same goes for Trad recurve and longbow......Am I going to take up rifle again ?YEP in the nxt 2-5 years.....Iam not getting any younger and Iam not doing my 1st Elk hunt with Bow this is where Rifle comes into play...
My go to Bow will be my Mathews Drenlin this yr and then recurve.....Will I hunt with crossbow this year.....YEP....
Crossbow are just as addicting(spl)as any other hunting tool....

. For me its theharvest of the animal that you been watching all summer or maybe that surprize buck that you've never seen before,heck I get akick out of a doe I can stick in the freezer. When you tag a nice buck in at the check station how many times do the other hunters ask to see your gun,compound or crossbow. So I think if you decide to hunt with a crossbow when you grab hold of that bucksrackyou'll get the same satisfaction as any otherlegal hunting implament that you use. Good luck next fall and take a big one down.

Is hunting with a CB satisfying! Yes Yes Yes! I think Bowhunting is what it is regardless of which one you use. I love my CB's, i also love hunting with my ML's. I don't hunt much with any of my rifles anymore. They seem to collect dust, be glad when my grandson is ready for his.
