He probably thought he should get a TenPoint Phantom instead
. (sorry, couldn't resist)
In defense of the guys at Gander, I am just now putting the TenPoint 08 stuff out there. The catalog does not even exist yet. They won't have a good grasp of what's new for a couple months. That will be when catalogs start to get out to them.

a little off topic, but I've been working on a new GM store since sept, in fact me and the guy working with me just got done hanging all the plywood and steel plating in the archery range just yesterday(thursday)
I told the boss I was going to bring my bow in next week and test it out...
if nothing else at least I'll have the bragging rights of being the first guy to shoot a bow in the new GM store's archery range
like thats something to brag about anyway...

This is going to get interesting. 10 pt's new recurves take 350 gr arrows, their compounds need 430 gr or so. When the 10 pt speed freaks try the 350's in the compounds, Duck!! I was looking forward to the 10 pt recurves, but I already got a Phoenix and know what it will do. Even though this is the time of year for hype and spin, I am somewhat disgusted by a post on another forum how a 34" wide bow can be 3"-4" narrower than the "competition" which is only 36" wide. I don't like getting bs'ed.

I feel your pain..Ican hear the splinters from here.
But this why we do our homework right? A decent bow can easily be buried by BS.
Facts are a wonderful tool, I caught that too. A good reminder of why I shoot the competition.

I also heard the same guy is the one that shot the world record CB buck with a Horton. Then tried to use his dream buck as a tool to make MONEY off Horton for his deer, and now is a TenPoint rep. To me that is misleading since he is with TenPoint and that will mislead people to think he shot his buck with a TenPoint. The guy is not lying about it, but also does not promote that he shot it with a Horton. Looks like some are just in it for the cash and not the fact of getting a lifetime buck.
I find it comical that Horton and now TenPoint have recurves to offer. In the past both have proclaimed the vast advantages of the compound and how it is better. Excal has always sold the recurve because of quality. SO now that others have the recurve, is it because they where wrong, or are just in it for a piece of the market? Not saying it is bad, but makes me wander when Horton's web site used to say all the disadvantages of recurves, now suddenly they are ok.
