Default Barnett quad 400

There is a Barnett quad 400 crossbow with range scopefor sale by my house for $300.00 the guy said he paid $370.00 for it and never used it. I know nothing about crossbows but have the perfect opportunity to hunt with one. What do you guys know of this bow?

Any help will be greatly apprecated.

Thanks,

I have never shot a Barnett. They as a company have had some problems in the last year or so, closed shop up once that I know of. A few guys on here have them and like them, then there are a few guys that have had some bad experiences with them and the limbs not holding up and coming undone when shot. That is about the most I can tell you about a Barnett, sorry.

Had one, didn't like it.
1 flimsy scope mount
2 WAY heavy trigger pull
3 no accuracy [w/ mine]
4 it blew up in my face and scattered crap all over.

Like Hotburn said, some guys love them, but I'll never roll those dice again.

Would do some research on the Barnett before buying, had great luck
with the two I owned,Have moved on to Parker Terminators, picked
up two at an estate sale, have sold one and have a buyer for the
other one, will purchase Terminator again as I love the bow,it is
every thing I have ever wanted in a cross bow.The new Barnetts
may be better, but I feel with an Excalibur or Parker you will be
happier in the long run, good luck on your search!

I've had one for two years and love it. The accuracy out to 25 yards is amazing then it starts to drift a bit but heck, that could be just me. Arrows zip out of it. Great starter bow I'd say

Hey, haters: just dropped yet another deer with my Quad 400 last night. And by "dropped," I mean IN ITS TRACKS.

Lol.

You guys go ahead and debate and bitch and badmouth. Me? I'm eating venison tonight.

Again.
