I'm probably being a little too paranoid, but it never hurts to get others opinions. I bought the Excalibur rope cocker and everything works fine but the hooks hit the safety when I am cocking.
Is there any problem in putting the hooks on the center servingabout an inch off the stock to avoid the safety? As an alternative, I guess I could file down the safety but I would rather not do that. Thanks.

1st trick, shorten the rope so you have to pull the string back by hand a few inches to get the 2nd hook on. W/ your Horton, just turn the hooks upside down and voila! They clear the safety. You do want the hooks tight to the rail. If you use the rope cocker to uncock, you will want to be doubly careful one or the other hooks does not slip off the string since they are upside down and you have gravity to deal w/.
