I don't remember anyone referring to hunting deer at night, but I may have missed it. I know I always refer to evening hunts as going out "tonight" but I only hunt legal hours as well.

My bad, sorry guys. I do that alot and sorry, it does sound miss leading. But a friend I used to hunt with started me on that we hunted alot on the evening hunts and that was how he always said it because we would not be home till late by the time we sat in stands till dark and then loaded up and came home. I am not a night hunter, I get to spooked easily! LOL!! I hate yotes after dark!!

For I'm not scared of the night at all. But hunting at night, I am scared to death of the Fed's, for they will take your truck, gun, wheelers, anything you have in possesion when you get caught. And on top of that, you have a BIG fine, court cost, jail time, and you loose your right to hunt !!! That's the way it is here in Louisiana.
About 20 years ago, I made a mistake and let a friend use my BRAND NEW duck hunting boat, for I came down sick ( or I would have been with him ).....He done something he wouldn't have done if I was with him., But anyway, he kill WAY over the limit of ducks, the wrong ducks, no plug in guns, shooting after hours, and the list goes on & on. Let me just say, I donated a new boat, motor, trailer to the wildlife & fisheries of Louisiana. I paid notes on that equipment for three years, and only got to hunt out of the boat twice. Yes, it was a expensive lesson I will never forget. I got spanked for something I didn't do. Asked the federal judges about me ever getting my equipment back. They said NO, and I will learn to pick better friends and will learn not to let anyone use my equipment for illegal use. It's still haunts me to this day !!!! For I have never done nothing like that, and don't know why in the heck he did that day.
P.S. He lost his guns, truck, spent time in jail, and cost him thousands of dollars in fines on top of everything else that was taken ***

Dang, Two Guns that sucks about your boat and stuff. I know some people that sounds like something they would do. Alot of people out there think that hunting is just going out with a weapon and killing "something". When they really don't actually even know what they are hunting or shooting at. Like taking the wrong sex of bird or deer during the wrong (not legal) times, etc. That's one reason I don't hunt state land here in IN. There's alot of guys who'll go buy a gun and deer license at Wally World and say, "BY GOSH I'M GOIN' DEER HUNTIN' THIS YEAR!" and not even know how to use their weapon or know the regulations!!! Scary!!! I realize the majority of us on here are NOT like that. But there are alot of people out there who are. And alot of them hunt state ground because they either don't know where to go, or can't find anywhere to go. I know a guy just like that too. Needless to say I will NOThunt with him!!! To scared of getting shot!! lol He's a nice guy, just not wrapped to tight.

That would be a expensive, painful lesson! Did your friend offer to give you any money? and I assume you are not friends anymore? Making payments on something you do not even have would suck to the max!

Yes, it was a painful, and very expensive lesson. It was like someone gutted me on the spot !!!!!!
From him, all I got was a bad nightmare, and no offer for money. Nobody will ever know how I felt in this dirty deal. Everybody couldn't believe this man turned bad. It shocked the whole community. Something in that man changed, for he wasn't always this way...... BUT, God seemed to take care ofthis his way.... the man lost his job, wife left him, later lost everything he had and ended up moving from what I heard, to Texas somewhere. ( Where he best stay ). All because of a stupid stunt he pulled on a friend.
I've always obeyed the hunting laws, and wished everybody else would, for as we all know, there is always somebody out there that wants to screw it up for the rest of the good folks.
I do the deer management thing on our property that we hunt & live, have been doing iteven before they came out with that fancy name. And nothing in the world hurts more to find pouchers on our land, killing our deer we have worked so hard for so many years. And what is really rotton,is to go out in the edge of the fieldsand find some monster buck lying dead, from a gunshot between the eyes from a nightime poucher.Or find a deer's body with the head cut off ..... THAT IS SOME SORRY PEOPLE. ****
For I have several signs out on the edges of some parts of the properties. That states " IF I FIND YOU OUT HERE AT NIGHT, THE BUZZARDS WILL FIND YOU TOMORROW *** YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!!
