Default Gonna try a crossbow

Never done it before. I do archery but with a compound. So right now I have a chance to get either a Barnett Demon or a Horton Supermag. Both are used but which do you think would be better for a first timer? Now I cant go out and spend hundreds of dollars on the really good ones which I wish I could. Im just trying this out. Any input would be appreciated. I know these arent top of the line but who knows I might not even like the crossbow and just stick with the compound. None of my friends have crossbows so its not like I can borrow one to try it out. So looking to get an effective one yet inexpensive one to do the job. Yes it is for hunting. Thanks for your input and help.

Well if those are your two choices I would probably take the Horton over the Barnett, have owned Barnetts and shot the Horton also, while Barnett has had some quality issues on some of their bows I enjoyed the two
that I owned. If you could go to a local shop that sells crossbows and
try out different makes and models and get an idea if you are going to like shooting a crossbow and go from there.Hortons reputation has always been good to my knowledge but all manufactures have some problems
and most will work their best to resolve any issues that may arise. After
you try them out you can then decide if you want to step up to abetter
model of crossbow,My two favorites are Ten Point and Parker! There are
a ton of people who sware by Ecalibur,Horton,Bowtech, etc. What fits
and suits you is what you have to decide, then go with it and enjoy it!
Once you shoot one they are hard to put down, good luck on your serch!
