I believe that in Ontario here heads would be illegal. Blade have to be Straight, or unschraided edges. From what I see there, are the blades have a curve and or a talon type tip to it. A few years ago a MNR officer told me that basically (general rule of thumb) if the head did not have a straight & smooth blade, if was not allowed for use in Ontario.

Check your local regulations as I understand many other areas have the same requirements that Ontario has.

From the Ontario hunting regulation summary:

"There must be at least two cutting edges of straight, sharp, unserrated barbless steel."

OK, well that answers that..[:@]

*edit* Good call GrumpyTom, that saved me a bit of embarassement and a fine.. See, your not so grumpy after all..:D

Yep! The back edges have to be 90* to the ferrule and or the shaft! That's 2 counts against the Magnus "Buzz Cut".... What a shame!:)Oh David, you forgot to mention, they have to be all Steel! You cannot use the Full Meatal Jacket, which is made of Aluminum.:)

Anybody hunt arrowheads?? I've never found one but have read a bunch on them. Apparently there are two time periods where they come from, one is like 10,000 years ago, the other somewhere near 40,000 years ago. Did ya'll know that flint is sharper [or can be] than any steel known to mankind?? The reason is flint when freshly "knapped" goes down at the edge to ONE MOLECULE thick!! Just imagine the native Americans deciding which b-head was best. Each weighed more or less than the other, no two arrows were half as consistant than they are today, yet nobody ever met a hungry Indian!! Just imagine if they would have had Slick Tricks, lol, we'd all be talkin Apache today!!

Dan, I have someprehistoric bird points from FL and some big game points from AZ. I also have prehistoricGreat White Sharks teeth from the phosphate mine pitshere in FL.. I had some Mastodon Tusk Tips and bones, but I donated them to the South FL museum. My friend Mike Garcia has the Skull and Upper Jawwith the two fangs of the Saber Tooth Tiger that he found at Lithia Springs,FLon displayat the Smithsonian Museum. He has over 50,000 bones donated at the Museum in Bradenton ,FL..Another friend found a Marine Uniform Insignia of 1790 on Fernandina Beach, Fl..I have found many Spanish Coins on the Beaches in Key West.

I use to belong to the Florida West Coast Archaeological Society. I researched my 40 acres and found out that it was owned bythe Orange Belt Railroad in 1850 and was used by Confederate Troops.Over the years of plowing and disking, we have found many small spikes, tie plates and section of Oval Track. Railroad Buffs will pay $25perfoot to make Book Ends.

Reb, thanks for taking the time to post a pic of that b-head. I have all kinds of stuff I bought to try, it usually gets given away or set somewhere to gather dust, hence my garbage comment, lol. Every time I see some new revolutionary product I remind myself GI-GO.

awshucks,Iam kinda like you when it comes to archery stuff.Got more then what I know what to do with so it gets put in dressers, closets, buckets(arrows)and plastic bins and hung here, hung there..When I cleaned out my subaru I found 2 3-packs of Grim Reper BH's and a bag of nocks,2 boxes of 9mm and 6 boxes of .223.In my suburban I founda Alaskin knife set a pack of feather fletchings and a new tube of string wax.
I like to buy stuff for hunting then put in the differaant storage places in my veh......then I forget i put the stuff there.

I have some old stone broadheads,I think they are from the 1800's O-wait I mean 1980's 1990 era stores.:D:D.

I did fined 500.00 in the spare tire area in my other suburban.Put it there in case of emerg and forgot it was there untill I cleaned it out....

I wounder how much free stuff Ive letgo with my veh when sold .

i'd be concerned with penetration.......curved blades are going to try to spin the arrow inside the deer = poor penetration. unless it's like razorbacks which spin on a ferrule.[8D]

RE: Comments On This B-Head?

I have4 BH's I bought in the early 90's that are free spinning, thought they were pretty cool at the time untill I read they were illegle in alot of states because the say you can put poison on the shaft(ferrule)behind the blades.
I only used them one season and put them with all my other stuff,I still think about trying them, specking ofwitch you now have givin me a idea.

I think they were made by Thunderhead but not sure..........

Those are the old Razorback's came in 4 and 5 blade.they're legal in most states, only the poison isn't! They free spin so it wouldn't plane while shooting.
