Hey Milan, what bow is it for, what string is it or what material, are you shooting light arrows, how many strands are there and how many are damaged including the one cut.

I have Exocet 200 + absorber V-bar.

* Excalibur Flemish Fast Flight ( http://www.aiacrossbow.com/accessori...burstrings/97/ )
* I am shooting; (sometimes i shoot with 100gr f.point or 125gr.)
- 2219, xx75 TenPoint C-hunter (20" 420grain with 100f.point)
- Carbon Impact XLT22 Ultrabolt (20" don't know the weight, but I think it's heavier than t.point)

* String has 11 - White strands and 12 - Black strands.


* Anyway, I looked again and there are only 2 - White "half broken" strands;



The string was just reserved, I don't know, maybe I stretched it too much...hmm

First, that string should have 28 strands. If two are cut then they are out of the equation. That string is sufficient for a 225 lb bow. A 200 lb bow is 1/8th less tension but the string has lost much less than that (1/7th) so mathematically I could say yes it is ok but if it really only started out with 23 strands then it is not usable. Bottom line? Get another string.

Senate Bill S06793, sponsored by Senator David Valesky, and Assembly Bill A00924, sponsored by Assemblywoman Francine DelMonte, authorizes the Department of Environmental Conservation to promulgate standards authorizing hunting with a crossbow by June 30, 2011. The bills are scheduled to come to the floor on June 2, 2010.

Every major New York sportsman group from the New York Conservation Council is in full support of this change and is asking their members to get in contact with their legislatures. Both Senator Valesky and Assemblywoman DelMonte have also asked for the NRA's support for their bills. Please support this legislation by sending a letter of support to all members of the Senate and Assembly Environmental Conservation Committees as soon as possible. Remember, the fight for crossbows is not about their usage. Rather, it is about when they should be used. In order to use them at all, this legislation must be passed to empower the DEC to have crossbows as an option.

I do the same as pics show, but I also run another serving on top of the first. The first I do may be 3" of serving and another on top will go out another 1/2" on either side. I started doing this when I found that the mfg do two rows of serving. I now stock and use the BCY Crossbow Serving and not sure if that is needed anymore due to thickness.
