The key is a split nut tightener. The other is an incomplete "A". LOL
The rawhide string is an antique bow release aid. And the iron objects: "TOOLS"

Well, the little wrench lookin thingy is a Danny Miller scope/ring wrench [$2.00] and this is a cabinet makers ruler from long ago. It opens up to two feet.

That's a 6' folding rule. Here's a few on that, lol. What's the biggest number on it, w/o looking? [not 72]

If you unfold it, stand it on the floor andmake a mark on the wall, it will be at 72" same as 6'. Did you know I/you can cut 11" off of it, and it will still measure the same [stood on floor and reach previous mark]?? W/O using the 11" in any way!! Old carpenters know alot of tricks, lol.

Dan, I have a Tool Grinding, Saw Sharping and Safe & Lockshop hereon my placewhich I quitoperating back in1983 when I opened a Safe & Vault business in town, which I sold in1993 when I went to the Sheriffs Dept as a Safe & Vault Tech.

Long story short, I accumulated many antique tools over the years.

Ill have to look at it again(its up north at moms house)I rember trying to use it as a sword when I was little.(didnt work well)my grandpa was a cabnet maker,there are alot of neet tools in my moms garage in a box.I do have acouple of his old plains in my basement.

That rule is an antique. Carpenters haven't used them for 30 or 40 years. Don't tell me you bought it new Dan?
