Default Crossbow Weight

I have a Horton Legend and it weighs way too much for me to support and steady shots. Anyone know of lighter bows or one which isn't so frontend heavy?

You should also check out the "steady eddy? or steady pod?". I think Ten Point has it and maybe it can be fitted on your bow.

My legend is a compound and I still use a draw device to save the back and fingers. Bad back.... Isn't the Vixen a non compound and therefore harder to draw? Where is the best place to buy. How much are they? I went on the internet and most Vixen sites were porn. As to shooting supports, I had thought of this but it's hard to move and prepare for a shot with the combersome bow much less a pod hanging from the bottom. Also a lot of times I wouldn't have anything to support the pod from. Keep the ideas coming and if I'm misssing something let me know.

This has to be one of the best sites on the net that I have found to buy archery stuff. There prices are hard to beat. I think Awshucks is the first one who found it for us!

A rope cocker cuts the effort in half. Your Legend is about the same as my Phoenix in draw weight, the Vixen is even lighter yet. This is just my opinion, but compounds seem to be harder to cock initially than recurves, but ease up as the let off kicks in. The recurves start out easier and the full force is needed later in the cocking motion, but over all comparible weights seem the same. IOW: if ya can cock one, ya can cock the other.

To answer your ? On Vixen its listed under Excalibur CB's! With the rope cocker it pulls 75 lbs. Using the Crankaroo its 5Lbs. Its only 6 lbs. in weight!
