can't justify spending that much $ on a bow. don't understand what could make one bow $1000 better than the one i've got.

As you can see, I am new to the forum. I have been looking extensively at a new xbow. Excal appears to be the best bang for the buck. The paper specs are good and everyone I have talked too love their excal or say that they want to get one. The Stryker looks like great on paper but $1,600.00 seems to be a bit of overkill for an extra 50 - 60 fps.

shewe I onwn one of the Expansive crossbows the top of the line Tenpoint , and there is no way I can explain on here what has me convienced it is worth the price I paid for it, but it definately was.. I also own an Excalibur Exocet , the Exocet is a great crossbow but it just isnt the crossbow the ProElite is, to compare the two would be like comparing a Chevy Chevette to a Caddy, the chevette does everything it was intended to do and does it well , but it just dosent compare to the caddy.. you would just have handle,, look at the way its made and put togather,, and shoot one to understand..

Dan if TenPoint comes out with one in 07 that is improved enough over the ProElite I have to convience me to get one I will let you play with my ProElite.. but its gonna take more than just a little morespeed or even a lot more speed to get me to want one ,, speed is not everything, and the noise factor is not a big isshue with me either. we both know crossbows are noisy by nature earplugs are cheap. earplugs= quiet crossbow.. and a little lighter isnt going to convience me either, but combine these togather with a few more improvements and I might be swayed to get one, and even if I dont get a new one I might still send you my Caddy to play with for a bit.. :)

I said it was a rumor, doubt that it's true. And, they were right weren't they? lol. Their wheel bow which was made from 2001 to 2004 is tough competition yet today, be a sad day in Ohio if they bring it back out w/ no improvements, lol. Hope 10 pt puts out one even better than the Pro-Elite so I can play w/ yours Henry!! I'll even pay the shipping both ways, lol.

Dan how many arrows have you put thru that Paradox?? I herd that becauseof the no let off cams they were hard on strings I am sure you are going to be they guy that is gonna be able to varify or disprove that.
also herd of a guy getting 350 plus fps using the lighter weight Excal arrows do you still have any of the original Excal arrows that come with the right stuff package to see if there is any truth to that??
and this is just my thoughts I think Excal made a mistake when it discontinued making the Paradox..but from what I have read it is definately one awsome compound crossbow..

Fuddy Duddy just think about it, no target will stop the arrows under 20 yds. Them if you use alum. it may bend them and make it a one arrow CB. One arrow one shot too costly, plus it weighs 11 lbs. you going to tote that and go up in a tree stand?[:o]

Henry: I don't shoot the Pdox alot because I can't shoulder it offhand very well, too heavy like most wheel bows are for me and my bad shoulder. I don't have any 360 gr left, converted them all to 431 gr via brass inserts. I get 317 fps outta it w/ those, but like you, speed doesn't much matter to me once you near 300 fps. I've got the Emax down to 328 or so, and the Phoenix at 290 or 280, can't remember now, lol. I haven't seen any signs of serving wear on the Pdox since I had it re-strung, and probably have near 100 on new string. Just re-strung the other two yesterday. The Emax is the leader in serving abuse, just the nature of the beast. I'm guessing your Ecet will be noticably harder on servings than your Phoenix was. I'd sure like to see a bench rest 3 shot group at 30 yds. outta your 10 pt.

I know a lot of you can do better offhand at 30 yards but I would say any deer out to 30 yards is gonna be on the ground. and that must be an old post from Dan asking to see a shot group outta my ProElite if I had My ExoCet here would do a 30 group outta it, will have to post that another day.

I can't tell from your post if that is offhand or benched, but doesn'treally matter. Like you said, plenty good enough for hunting. I'm interested in a good benched group, w/ sand bags fore and aft to remove shooter error to see how accurate they really are. Thanks for posting, Henry, hope you stick one w/ both bows. Be sure to tell us if you do, lol, which one died first, lol. good to see ya back!!
