Hey guys, I just ordered my first ground blind. I should have it in a few days. I've never even been inside one so I need some tips on how to use it. It's a 60"x60" square pop up blind. Can I leave it up a few days at a time or do I have to take it down every time I leave the woods? I hunt on private land so thieft is minimal. Also, do I have to spray it down when I recieve it with scent killer or something? I know these are dumb questions but I just don't know anything about them yet. I've had such good luck out of my box stand last year and this yearso I'd like to take my hunting to a higher level. That's the only reason for purchasing the ground blind. All tipsters will recieve massive doses of good luck from me on their hunts this season. Thanks

I hunt out of a blind and i love it, i put it up and it's fine, nothing to it. i'd just watch putting the chairs in there because if they're in a rainstorm, they might get kinda wet. Ground blinds are great tools to hunt with. And it's a lot warmer than a stand!

First off what type of blind is it?? sportmans guide sells a kinda like forgger for them not sure what it is called I just set mine up for and let it sit in my yard for a couple of weeks to air.. you can leave it set up all season if you wish though some of the blinds tend to sunfade depending on who it was made by some fade less than others but if I were you and were going to leave the stand up for an extended length of time even if it was on private land I woul chain it to a tree so it dosent walk off..

Well last year I bought the "Dog House" blind and had visions of "popping" up my blind in the dark before the light and shooting deer. Well It was the 60 * 60 also and that thing kicked my but! Its not bad, but trying to do it in the middle of the dark morning was a big issue for me. I might as well got on a bull horn and announced to the deer I was here! So last year I never used it and left it at home. This year I have a woods like yours privet and I hope theft is minimal. I set mine up a few weeks back and weather permitting will plan on leaving it up till after season. I think the more its up the more deer will get used to it. I also mainly put it up for my nephew. He cant sit still if his life depended on it!

I don't own one but they r on my list. I do know that u need to set it outside fer at least 5 days to let that factory stink smell fade away. I would ease in the woods where i wanted to set upcouple hours early but not in the dark.[:-]

BBO: I got a doghouse and here's a tip for ya. Take 4 pieces of 1/2" pvc pipe about 3/4" long and epoxy them in those darn loops your rods go in. It makes setting up in the dark alot easier and in the light too, come to think of it, lol Those flat loops are a bugger to get those rods in. Took me two phone calls to mfgr to fold it up too, btw. The trick there is it never exactly folds in half like you might think from directions. About the time you got it bent near double, you twist it so the front radius turns back under toward your feet and the darn thing almost folds itself after that, The trick is changing your grip w/o losing what ya got or disjointing your thumbs, lol. Now, for my pay back in luck, just spent 7 hrs on stands, 4 deer hrs and 3 bear hrs. Gonna need a lot of luck, but would settle for not having this sore butt, lol. Mal-Wart foam rubber dept in the a.m. lol
Oh, almost forgot, I rubbed my zippers [on the blind smart arses] w/ a candle to lube them. Dan

I have a carbon pop up blind. its made of four metal circles and is as easy as pie to set up and put away. Buddy, if your interior isn't black paint it. The longer you leave it the better it is. Either set it back in the vegetation or attach or lay brush on it. Use the shoot through screens. Apparently deer do not like the blind if the screens are removed. Apparently those big black holes bother them.

I also have one but have never hunted out of it. I got it just in case I get a chance to hunt somewhere I cant get into a tree stand. I have shot out of it, though.
I am most comfortable shootinga caddycorner kind of shot. I worry about making noise on the wall and spooking the deer.
I also set mine up for most of a week and let it air out, then sprayed Scent killer on it, let that dry before I packed it away.
