Default Gotta Go

To Illinois to help bury my favorite uncle. He was a great man, and led a great life, and it's just something I gotta do. He taught me all I know about hunting, fair chase, sportsmanship ect. See ya'll when I get back.

Sorry about the loss Dan. Hope you have a peaceful time and a good reunion with your faimily. Good mentors like that are hard to come by!

When dear old Dad moved on I could hardly sit in a tree stand but then I realized what better honor could there be then having friends or family think fondly of you. I now make sure that even though some years have passed I always think of Dad when I am up in a tree. Sorry for your loss and happy for all you gained. Smile when you think of your Uncle and zip one for him. It's what he would want.

Gotta agree with Planter on this one. I know its a loss for you and your family but think of the positive memories you shared with your Uncle, and now you have a chance to share them with more of your family.

My boys may have never met their Great Uncle or their Great Grandfather, but they have all of my memories that I recieved as a kid. It warms my heart to hear them tell their younguns about them as if they were Superheroes of somekind...to me they were.

So take the opportunity my friend and pass them memories on...
