Gotta love the big brown truck, it's like Santa in disguise. Will be waiting to hear how you like your marvel, lol.

Mke, if you see a difference I'll reserve your strings for the rest of my life! LOL! Let us know how you like it. I have one on my Vixen and it just isn't good enough when the sun goes down and its magic hour. On the other hand many people like the different yardage lines.

I hate saying it but I just donno, I keep on switching. All I can tell you is that I like rifle scopes because the better ones give me more light. Currently I have a B&L 1.5 X 6 X 36 Elite 4200 which gives me lots of light at magic hour (the last half an hour after sunset). I am thinking about using one of my Nikon 30mm scopes because it might give me more light. Sorry Roger but I have not found the perfect scope. I know one thing, there isn't one "crossbow" scope that cuts the mustard at magic hour! When I find it I will let you know for sure.

you could try one of the starlight or infrared rifle scopes from midway. Can hunt right till the last second befor quiting time with them. Lee

I used it the other night and thought that it did well in the low light. Are you sure you are not hunting just a tad to late?

Ok young buck! LOL!! Geeeze you're bad!:) Nope, I often get stuck in a small opening in the woods and when the sun goes down it gets way to dark for anything but the brightest scope. Its even worse when there's cloud cover. Ok Squirrel bite Jason's ankles!:D

Lee, they are illegal here in Ontario, the use or even possession of them in the field leads to a big fat ticket. Second best thing is the Halo. With both eyes open anyone you can see lots even in the last few minutes.

Dnk: Sounds like you need that 10 pt w/ red or green dots on the reticules. Thats what I'd have if the V-zones weren't available. To be honest, when you have a pie tin size kill zone, they are close enough no matter the bow or speed. I just like the pin point no hold [generally] of the v-zone, but I range every shot, if you know what I mean, lol.

I have the same problem as you Dnk. The time I have to pack it in from not being able to see through the scope anymore theres still a good 30-40mins left before the bow has to be encased. Most of my stands arent located on field edges but a little further back in the bush. It sucks thinking well guess thats it for the night, climbing down getting to the field edge seeing that its actually still plenty light out.

The exact reason I will be switching back to my vertical this season. :(

Seeeee you guys!!!! Exocet and I don't hunt the woosie fields like you guys! LOL!
I agree that the compound is better to see with then too. I tell you though a good bright rifle scope makes all the difference at low light. I've passed up shots because I couldn't ID the animals sex.

OK i will see if i can see in those woods in another week. Got CB sighted in 10 min. 4 shots and 10 and 20 yds. are dead on. Didn't have time fer 30-40 or 50 yds. cause had to make a run.:D

I am just ribing ya don! If you remember when I first started talking about the v-zone with you guys I too had a story about plenty of light to see the truck but could not see the deer! Hey mike are you setting the main cross at twenty? or at ten? I have mine on twenty and the rest are right on! You won't be sad!!!

My midrange $ Leopold riflescope sucks up light better than the Vari Zone and might add some time to the day.Not making any changes to the Pheonix, but the benifits of the V Zone are the ranging and sure not the optics themselves.Don't get me wrong, V-Zone is great but sure doesn't have the glass of a VX3 or a Ziess. I would pay more for better optical qualities if they ever offered them.

Yup u be right on it, i don't get to hunt in the afternoons much. So the loss of those min.s is way life is! I used distain the peep on compound at dusk, twas very hard to see deer and those pins covered up it up when u did finally get on it.[:o][:-][&o]

Hey y'all i finished up sighting in my scope. Its there at 10, 20, 30 and 40 yds. I would have to move 3-Ddeer back into garden 10 yds. to have 50 to shoot at. I didn't feel that good, back hurting real bad today. [&o]So i don't think i have a clean 40 yrd. shot out of any of the 3 stands i have up. I am good at anything 40 yds. and under so i am very happy. 6 days and a wakeup deers will be in GRAVE danger, that i can and do assure u!:D

RE: Vari Zone!

Moxie and I are so jealous. We can't hunt for another month. The deer will be shedding horn before we ever get in the woods. >>>>>Whack!
