ORIGINAL: Planter

I value as many opinions as I can get and it does not matter what sharp broadhead you hit them with as long as you hit them right. Like Jay I use the Steelheads. I just wish I knew where he got extra bands for them. I don't think Jay knows it all, but he sure does know alot. Squirrel seems like a bright kid and I am willing to bet there is a ton he could learn from Jay. Just think, Jay has underwear as old as the Squirell is but "probably" not as badly stained. Some guys want to reload ammo to acheive 1" accuracy at 100 yards. I am happy shooting offhand rifle groups of five inches at 100 with factory ammo and have never even shot a deer that far away. Some guys want 350fps out of their bow, but like Smoke I think if I throw a log with a sharp broadhead thru their lungs I win the Game. This is not fighting or arguing, it is just a bit of trying to convince the other guy he is wrong and I for one am just having fun..>>>>>Whack!
Planter, you said it all! I agree 100 percent with everything you said except that I use wasp mechanicals.

No, afraid you take the cake in being obnoxious..When did I say that tuning to field points was a waste of time??? Do you mean broadheads??? I can see how limited your knowledge is, they are different types of tips..Hope you remember which to screw on when the season starts, remember lefty loosey, righty tighty...I can also see that your reading ability is severly limited, because you did not read everything I wrote.Did I not say that I have used both fixed and expandables and had good results with both. Did I not say that you shouldhave confidence in the equipment and practice with the equipment that you use, and make up your own mind about that equipment.I don't know or care what you do for a living, but I think that if I were to walk into your business(garbage man or whatever you do) and start telling you that you are doing everything wrong and I am here to straighten you out, I think the shoe will be on the other foot...If you don't know what I mean, I can try to type slower and use words you might understand...Your turn sonny...

WASP mechanicals!!! What are you some sort of loser Don? The more I read over this "stuff" I realize that many including myself placefor to much emphasis on the equipment we use rather than hunting techniques. Scent control, stand placement and approach and the rest of the things that cause me not to score. The least of my problems is what I am shooting that day whether it be gun or bow. I am looking forward to the day when I can pass on a 3 yr old eight point as being to young and needing a year or two to mature.I prefer to rough score them when they are laying at my feet. This is also going to be the first year that I hunt with my Pheonix. Arguably the best bow out there unless you dry fire them. What will be different then hunting last year with my Hoyt? Nothing much. Filling your tank and getting oil and gas on your rubbers is far more likely to cost you then using fixed instead of mechs or shooting 350fps instead of 300fps. Squirrel my young friendat 13yrs I am guessing you have a ways to go before you become an experienced deer hunter and you should think of Jay like a magazine. In your defense Squirrelyou have a lot more knowledge than I did at your age. I wore old army camo and shot an old Ben Pearson 40 pound recurve with any arrows I could find and that was 34 yrs ago. You should let grampa Jay bounce your 6ft frame on his knee and tell you about some of those 200 big game kills. Sweeten him up and talk him into letting you share one of his honey holes.>>>>>>>>Whack!

If I was Squkilla's age, I'd take Jay some of Smokes Capt. Morgan and see if I could get him pixilated enough to adopt me!

Hey jaygirl, I think I found your hot button. Gee that was hard to do.

Your right, I did say field points by mistake, you win another bowl of chili. I guess I thought you could read between the lines and respond with an adult response. I won’t pick on you and make you look like a fool. You have that covered.

Go back and read through the last few post you’ve left. If you don’t think you come across like an obnoxious turd which wouldn’t surprise me your only fooling yourself.

Tuck your chest back into your diaper and brag about how wonderful you are somewhere else. I’m still not impressed.

Planter, Wasp mechanicals are OLD and not a much talked about new piece of marketing hardware. The main reason for my use of them is the large hole. My success if not based on my mechanical broadheads (I also use thunder heads, yet another old one and the old wasp cam locks) Pay attention here... its all old stuff from the carved limb tips to the cam locks with a tich of slightly more modern equipment...wasp mechanicals and thunderheads. Planter please guide me to path more to your liking which is apparently the only way. My point being that you are wrong to say what you are saying about me and that no one has the right to dictate who uses what. Planter MOST of the time you have intellegent things to say like in the later half of your last post but I am sorry you blew in in you're first two sentences.
Dan, get rid of your scope and camera.
Mike get rid of your flemish strings.
Everyone get away from your computers.
Planter get rid of your compound and use a stick.
All you guys get rid of your wheels.
Reb, you can only use a knife.
I could go on but I hope you see my point Planter. You called it. I answered it. Sorry!
Looser? Don't think so. I'm rarely slandered and I always return fire.

Listen guys, most of this is light-hearted fun, it just is a passion that most of us share..I would be willing to bet you that Don is a much better mechanic than I am, I would also bet you that Dan is a much better carpenter than I am..John, sorry I do not know what you do for a living, but Ibet you are better at it than I would be.I don't even know how to use this computor half the time. Most of us that are a little older remember our first kill, most of them were completely by accident, at least for me it was..I would sit in the stand and look at my equipment(this string and sticks)and wonder how the he!! was I going to be able to take down an animal as large as a deer..It took me three seasons of half-hearted attempts to do so..But what is even worse is to sit there for endless hours and have some type of equipment malfunction, when the "moment " arrived, that would have a tendency to ruin your day. What I am attempting to say is to use the best equipment you can afford, a razor sharp broadhead, and be able to hit a softball at the longest range that you are comfortable with..I am lucky enough to live in a state where there is alot of nice whitetails.Maryland had the no1 typical for either 04 or 05 can't remember which. As far as I am concerned this state allows way to many to be killed..One county away we are allowed 120deer kills per hunter(little much don't you think)That was the limit in my county last year..This year we are only allowed a paltry 12 deer per hunter. To me this sounds like a deer eradication program rather than a conservation program..Thanks to all for your support...

Well this is a lively party isn't it?
Jay, I remember the first bow kill. I still feel the rush. It felt like it was him or me! Yup felt like an accident too. I was pumped, breathing heavy, eyes bugged out, body tense, gawwwd it was funny in hindsite! Best part was that I could calm down in a matter of seconds.
BTW Jay, you are right, I am a good mechanic.
