whining and evilness

whining- i just went to gander mountain. i bought 4 items. 10point rail lube, 10 dollars! horton bolts, 35 dollars! some bullet tips, i dont rember dollars! and some bird shot cus the bb gun isnt fun without a bang anymore:D6 dollars! i shell out 58 friggin dollars! walk out the door. dad cracks a smile. i say what r u so happy bout. he goes, dont you have a 50 dollar gift card for here? man i threw that hat so far! lol oh well. i'll just buy better stuff for it when the season comes.

evilness- how evil would you consider me if i "removed" some unwanted cats from our farm with say, a 150 lb crossbow? i dont conider it "super duper evil" more like the diet coke of evil. but uhh, saying somehow, the bolt goes in, with a broadhead, and it's cocked, oops, satey's off. uhh well dang how did the 25 yard dot get on that cat? oops, musta pulled the trigger, cat's dead. but seriously, we got some evil cats that attack us when we try to feed cows. they jump out of the bushes! omg! i like pooped myself when it jumped for me! ahhhhh! i walk with my big ol huntin knife in my hand now! so is this a bad idear? yea yea yea yell at me now:eek:

RE: whining and evilness

I dont think it would be evil ,, in some areas it is legal to hunt ferrel cats and in some countries thay eat cats , you might want to look into some of the bolt tips made for small game though, Montec makes one not sure of the exact name of it,, I would say the cats are just hungry,, maybe they think you are foodor they have dubbed you as a kitty treat,, or tidbit.. if they are attacking you I would dispose of them also I might would do it a different though ,,
myself I would go to the local humane society and ask them for help they might give you some box traps to catch them in,,

I do thik you might catch some heat from some.. just if you do decide to take them out with your crossbow please make sure of your shot so there is not an injured animal suffering..

Squkilla: Dnk and I were discussing your cat problem via pm's, and we're both VERY concerned. We need more info to give any meaningful advice. #1 do you have red hair??? #2 do you tuck your tail outta sight??? #3 do you smell like catnip?? #4 have you tried wearing a dog mask?? #5 what about scent control??? Dog dung smeared liberally should be worth a try. We did agree that feral cats aren't worth a b-head, so use a .22 Last, but not least, be extremely careful, as usually in squirrel/cat confrontations, the cat wins.

I hope this is were I canm help ya out but my father inlaw is a hog farmer and has lots of grain and other stuff. Well that means lots of mice and that means he has alot of stray and wild cats at his farm.He has so many mice that he never even feeds the cats, maybe a little in the winter. But anyways somtimes lets just say I help him "control" the population. But if you do decide to "help out the population" keep it in pm's or you may get a rash of you know what from people. I think you would be safe in the CB forum but some stories a better left untold.

Yep! I have to agree with you. I have goats, sheep, cows, rabbits, chickens and have had in the past hogs and a bird aviary. I done have mice, I have Rats. I have 12 cats on the farm that keep them to a minimum. If you see one, you won't for long!:D

RE: whining and evilness

Ok Rocky, I hate freakin cats and yes they have a purpose.BUT it they take a lick at me they are going to pay big time and last time. Cats are put together with spit, I think you know that. Any thing will take them out. When you go to gander mountain again get a blunt. its a tapered rubber cone that you screw into your arrow and the wide part is the buisness end. It will cream the cat like a sledgehammer. Just make sure its a chest or shoulder shot. My friends and I had to clean up a barn or cats. There were 40 cats living there and the woman living on the farm was scared of them because they would surround the house demanding food and not one of them friendly. She got scratched over and over by these pests. A mans got to do what a mans got to do. So like a Nikie comercial...just do and PM us! Oh yes no broadheads not points. Blunts work well because they do not hang in the animal. Did you ask your parents or is this clandestine? If I were your neighbour I would let you use my ten gauge or my 454 Casul. Either way vaporize the sucker if it attacked you and don't let it suffer. Kinda reminds me of the day my buddy and I were hunting pheasants and our dogs treed a cat that was killing (not eating) his pheasants. I ran back to my car and shot it in the eye with my 308. It didn't feel a thing. Entry the eye, exit the other end and into a dead tree.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Wish I was there![&:]

Don't forget that cats can transmit some awful terrible diseases with a simple scratch so don't get scratched again.

The cat that jumped at you would have died that day in my book. Don’t make a sport out of it because it might get you into more trouble than you want. Years ago I lived in an area that was close to other houses. The neighbor across the road had a cat that ran off. For six months she put food on the porch hoping that cat would come back.

All it did was draw in more cats. My other neighbor was tired of cats hanging around like myself so he bought a trap (cage). He took the first cat to the humane society and they wanted to charge him for dropping it off. No kidding.

Over the next 4 weeks he caged 26 cats and drove them out to the country and let them go. The ones that made it to my yard weren’t so lucky.

Just keep in mind, some love em and some hate em. The ones that love em will cause you problems if they now your tucking them in for a dirt nap.

I'd go with the .22 - much cheaper and no damage done to your bolts.
I remember my dear ol' grandpa: people from the city would drop cats near their farm, and my grandma would feed 'em all. When he came in with two large baskets of eggs hanging on his arms, he'd have to shuffle and kick his way through cats to keep from getting tripped up. After a while when he'd had enough, he'd come back out with his old Marlin .22 pump. When the smoke cleared, there'd be about 10-15 dead cats (about half of what were there).
Local laws notwithstanding, if I lived on a farm, I'd be the one to decide when a cat was about to use up it's 9th life!
