TARGETS

Ok, I'm about at my wits end. Is there a target out there that will stop a 408 gr. arrow at 330 fps. field tip and broad head? I've got a Block xbow
that buries them to the fletch, went thru everything Mal-Wart offers, just tried a Morrell foam, and have the distinction of being the first ever to have to return a Rinehart 18-1, because my LII's actually "melt" the foam and "glue" to it. Only went in about 8" @ 30 yds. Boy, I thought Eureka!!
until I tried to pull the arrow. Got a Mckenzie coming next, maybe that Scottish name will be tighter, LOL. Called Excal and they use the "Yellow Jacket" for field tips, but didn't have an answer for b-heads. Kinda like sellin somebody a car w/o brakes!! But I still love em!!! LOL HELP???

Hey Dan, you are going to have to go to a bag butt buddy, LOL. The best one I've seen thus far is the American White Tail. Its a big one and should be hung (I don't). Have you tried to suspend your Block so that it's movement will absorb some of the energy? Here's a pic. I has a pic of a whitetail's vitals on one side and dots on the other. This target needs some attention. I bought it before xmas and I have gone through it already (up to 50 or more per day 5 days a week at 20 yards). I will probably get away with just stuffing it with more cloth.

Thanks Dnk, Can you use b-heads on that? I didn't follow you on the butt thing.

No you cannot. Try using a carboard box three or four inches thick filled with cloth in front of your foam target. You are generally better off to hang your target butt/target.
