RE: What xbow do you shoot?
Lastfall was my first with a crossbow after 20 years with recurves and compound bows. I live in TN and it was the first year they legalized them for archery season. I bought a Ten Point TL-4, Accu-draw 50with red dot (3) chunking 100grn Rocket "bacon skinners" on Horton graphite bolts.
I REALLY love my lil bow, it is ALOT of fun to shoot and I took one slickhead with it lastyear!

I have owned several. My favorite, and this may sound crazy, is my first crossbow: a Horton "Sportsman". I purchased it in 1994 when i obtained my crossbow permit here in Michigan. It is only 150 pounds draw; shoots probably around 240 fps. However, it has a solid wood, Monte Carlo stock; weighs about 5.5 pounds and is very compact, almost like a "carbine".
I had to replace the limbs last year and it added a few fps and about 1 pound to the bow, but hardly noticable. Hopefully, it'll last me another 10 years I've probably taken 12 deer with it; all under 20 yards. I simply like

I've got a cheezy ol' Barnett Wildcat. Before that, it was an old Whammo from the early 60's. I'm seriously considering making a replica mideaval crossbow this summer. Got to figure out a way to make a mechanical safety for it so it'll be legal to hunt with. I can't use a crossbow in the October archery season, but they're legal for the other 11 months of the year.
