Brains, anyone eat them???
 

I have had scambled eggs with hog brains which were delicous, any one have any recipes, or experiences?

Yeah, i've had 'em a few times, but only in eggs. they had an interesting yet good flavor. I have not heard of any other way to have them.


PS. I didn't think antlers grew this time of year!

I've had scrambled eggs & brains b/f.
I thought just about anyone from the south has had this for breakfast before. Ever had hog-ears or cracklins?

brains and scambled eggs a bunch of times,squirrel brains when I was a kid with my dad.
I cook off cracklins every year to have for seasoning in my greens.
pig ears goes into my brumswick stew.
dad always said we eat everything about the hog except the squeal,and would eat it if we could catch it.
chitlins are great with pickled pigs feet.
if you ain't ever tried any of the south's little treats,you don't know what you'r missing,believe me or not.

I keep a gallon jar of feet year round. That ain't eatin bro, that's livin.

Never had hog brains though.

How about scrapple or tripe? MMMMMM GOOD! Oh yes I almost forgot a true delicacy, Mountain oysters!!!!

Taz: I have eaten almost anything anyone has brough out.except tomatoes and celery raw,I can eat them cooked.
but mountain oysters you can keep,cooked or raw.

MY GREAT GRAMPA USED TO EAT THEM WITH PIG BRAINS I NEVER GOT THE CHANCE TO TRY THEM.

tree rat brains. fry the whole head and break the skull. i had some girlfriends that refused to eat with my grandparents.i was raised by them and they were COUNTRY. chittlins, coon, pigs feet etc....
my grandfather used to say we didnt know what hungry was. and you develop a taste for such things.

Never tried brains...
But I always say I will try most anything once, twice if I like it!! next time I am in the south going to have to find someone to fix it up for me.

Just my uneducated opinion!

There are some things that just aren't right....eating brains has got to be onw of them!<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

I've never tried it personally, and you'd have a hell of a time talking me into it.
