I do and love it!! I always soak them in saltwater for an hour or so, then slice thinly and dredge in flour and fry in butter til golden brown. I will have to try some of these different recipes next year, they sound really good. :)

The heart is very good,had my first taste at age 8 ,grand mother cooked it , told me it would geve me the power of the deer ,been doing it all my life now ,, now yall dont quiver,, we eat the liver as well,better than beef,soak it in saltwater also,,give it a try.

Haven't had deer, but Elk heart is excellent and must be similar. I usually cook it in a pressure cooker first to tenderize. Then use it for chile, or fried. Fresh is best sliced and fried with onion if flour and grease, catsup and fried potatoes. We fight over it in the tent! It freezes well, just be sure it is dry and double wrapped.
