Pulled Venison

Tried it, doesnt work to well. The closest way is to can the venison then shred it when its cold. This would not be smoked but adding a little powdered smoke or liquid smoke could work. Personally I like to cure the roasts smoke them, then dry them quite a bit but not as dry as dried beef then shave the meat with an electric slicer. Warm up in BBQ sauce and put on buns.

I some times have the hams smoked. After heating them up to eat I have shredded the remainder and thrown into a crock pot with BBQ. It is a little tougher to shred up but once it is shredded it makes good sammies.

I put a roast in a pot with onion soup and other saesonings and bake in the oven at 250 until fall apart tender. Drain juice (save some for later). Shred meat with a fork, add BBQ sauce, add some of the juice for moisture. Put back in oven for about an hour. Serve on buns. Delicious.

as venison has little fat content and "pulled pork" is from one of the fattest piece of meat possible, Boston butts from a pig.
Venison, by right, is one of the great health foods to eat. Doesn't get advertized because it is harvested by hunters.
