Hope you see this....I have done them for years with sundried tomatoes finly chopped up and added to the batter. I prefer the sun dried tomatoes in olive oil as they are soft and dont need to be soaked.

Try this recipe...I liked ' em too. And the yellow cat I cooked with them wasn' t bad either!
HUSH PUPPIES
1 cup all purpose cornmeal
1 1/2 Tbs all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
3 Tbs chopped onion
3 Tbs chopped green or red bell pepper
3 Tbs chopped tomato
1 beaten egg
1/2 cup buttermilk
Mix all the dry ingredients together and then add onions, pepper, and tomato. Mix in the egg and milk and stir gently to blend. Drop by spoonfuls into deep hot fat. Cook until brown. (You do realize you should be already cooking fish, don' t you?) Hush puppies will float when done.
