Or at least my wife thinks Im crazy. I set up a tree stand in one of my pecan trees in my back yard and a tripod behind an oak tree to practice shooting out of. She thinks I have gone over the deep end.

I've been called a nut simply because I was out climbing a tree with my climber in May. I had just gotten it and could wait to try climbing and no one but me could understand this.
It's ok Burnie, you're not loco.

does climbing on top of the house qualify, and my wife pulls the arrows out and throws them back up to me. really does help though

As long as your wife is throwing the arrows TO you, not AT you, you should be fine.
I'd probably be doing the same things you guys are doing, but I don't have any trees in my back yard and I don't want to damage my shingles. Guess I could shoot from a ladder, though... It'll have to wait until after turkey season, though. Still have one more weekend to go...

we tried puttin our stand in a tree but the tree wasnt very straight so it didnt work. i wanted to shoot off the roof, but me or my dad would have to stay down to retrieve the arrows but we both wanted to go up and shoot. but bein in an area where your neighbors house is only 15 yards away from your house, your kinda limited in what you can do.

yeah whiteclound i'm in about that same situation. i'm in a residential area so that's why i'm shooting into 2 haybales, a wire fence, and then a wooden privacy fence. but as long as everything goes right i shouldn't need the backstop hopefully.
