The "lawful" definition is whatever your municipality has on its books.

whoooops, thought this said CROSSbow. No, I don't consider a bow a firearm, and if they ever clasify it as one, oh boy. can you imagine a waiting period on a bow??

It never has been considered a firearm. Heck until 9-11 happened my boss would carry his bow on airplanes when he went to archery shoots. Now they wont even allow a nail file. The best thing for you to do would be to check with a conservation officer to make sure before you go.

I know out here its consider as a 'weapon' because it can do bodily harm to a person. As for it being classified as a 'firearm'. No i don't think it is considered that.
