I've taken a yote with gun but never with bow. The two yotes that i did take was always during the rule of thumb (finding something with not looking for it). I saw a yote hauling butt when i was out squirrel hunting (with bow) but too far and running way too fast for me to even think about taking a shot

Double no way
You guys crack me up, its just meat... My great grandmother was a Mennomonee indian, they beleived you gained part of the animals sole by eating its flesh. Adds a whole new meaning to "YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT"
The indians used the whole animal... Nothing went to waist till the European people arrived.

I've shot a couple while deer hunting. The first was at 20 yds. while he was having a stand off with two small bucks at 60 yds.

I've shot 5 coyotes with my bow, 4 while calling for them and one while deer hunting. They are very challenging to take while calling, but it can be done!

Congrats on kiling the coyote with your bow. Nice job!

Now, as far as:

I also ate the backstraps
My great grandmother was a Mennomonee indian, they beleived you gained part of the animals sole by eating its flesh.
Native Americans had to eat them to maximize all that they could eat, but for me, I have too many choices of what I can eat. Coyote backstrap, or any other cut of meat, is at the bottom of my list. No thanks!
