hey man me again, i got out this weekend and set up on the other side of a creek about 100 yards from where they were roosting and they came straight off the roost and hit in the creek bed. well i called and they came straight up the bank and stood at 38 yards for a minute or so then wondered off. i also found out that my cheap blind is to small to shoot out of very good. we then descided to ditch the blind and go to another spot 20 miles up the road. we get there and call in the first field nothing then move to the next field which is really big as we came up on i told him to stop and let me glass it first and sure nuff on the far side of the field there was 10 or so birds and at least 3 were strutting so we took off slipped down in the creek bottom and got all the way around to them slipped up on the bank probably 70 yards from them and i hit my glass slate and the hens headed right to us well you know what happens then the gobblers followed and came by at 10 yards and i put the smack down on him.
9 1/2 inch beard and 1 inch spurs 21 pounds. well now we deside to put the gun up and go back after the birds form the moning on sunday and see if they woud do the same thing they had the morning before and as it usually happens they didn't. one did hang up at 100 yards down the creek so we waited and nothing. so i descided to slip to the other side of the creek were my buddy was going to film from and see if i could see something and as soon as i peeked my head over the bank he was 150 yards out and just started running at us well i jumped back on the other side of the creek and got in the blind and waited he cam right in and walked by to fast to get a shot off then came around the back side of the blind where i couldn't get a shot either. i think i need to get a decoy set up if i want to get one w/ my bow to keep them there long enough to get a shot off. i also need to get a bigger blind when i come to full draw my arm hits the back of the blind and the front of my bow is touching the shooting window. well that's about it here can't wait til tommorow!! taking half a day off from school

I went last Satuday and Sunday, snowing like a bugger on Sat. saw to hens at about 60 yds, called on the box,got the hens to answer.Went home wet and looking forward to the next day.
Sunday drive 30 miles east of Lewistown,go to a familar spot where I shot a tom last year and the year befor. My brother in law gose with me this time,we get to the spot, park the pick-up and grab our bows and gear and head out. This my first trip out with my new SB and first bow hunt in 5 years. We wal about 1/4 mile and I spot 7 turkeys one good tom and several jakes. They were about 150 yds down on the creek,we set up and I give a few yelps and no answer,so I cluck and the big tom starts to strut, but dose not move.We decide to try to sneek up on them.We circle around and got above them on a ridge and slowly work our way towards them.We see the first turkey and range him at 36 yds.We hold up and wait for them to start feeding away from us.My brother in law starts to work towards them and I hold back and slip off to the left side of the rige and get 20 yds off of the trail and start to call.Well here comes about 10 birds and all are small toms,I'm watching John close in on the big tom at about 15 yds.Well the other birds are getting close now about 20 yds and I can't help it I pull my bow up and go full draw, wait for the 5 or 6 bird to stop, center my 20 yds pin on his chest, breath, squeezed the trigger on my release and WHACK!!!!,I hit about 3 inches high.Jhon jumps up cussing me out cause he had the big tom one step away,at 10 yds and man did the birds fly there had to been about 40 of them in that crick bottom all I could do was laugh.Well we spent the rest of the day tracking them in the snow and spot and stalking them.John missed 2 more birds, one about at 7 yds and another at 12 yds.I let him shoot the rest of the day, cause he pouted so much about me screwing his hunt up.
Well I will givem heck the end of the week and this weeken with my dad.
Good luck to all.
