nubo said you can't eat groundhogs, he doesn't know what he's missing. If they are cooked right and you can get past the smell, you've got it licked. I'm going to be hunting dogs pretty soon. I was working on my barn at my new place last evening and saw 6 dogs running around together on my property. They probably wouldn't hurt anybody but with 2 young boys that will be playing in the woods, I'm not going to give them the chance. If people really loved their pets they would keep track of them.

if youve got time to travel, there are a few big game hunts out there that time of year.
i believe that colorado has pronghorn hunts starting either mid or late july, usually they hunt them out of a blind.
some states spring black bear seasons last into or through june
alaska caribou starts august first i believe.
wyoming has antelope in some areas that starts mid august.
just a few ideas

Two friends and I just booked a stay in FL to shoot boars and hogs. We are going in july. It will be hot but we are all teachers so we have all summer off. I have also looked into pronghorn in CO but it was twice the money. Good luck.
