You can hunt turkey's in the spring. Deer hunting is limited to Redtag and greentag hunting on farms, atleast here in PA.

The beach the beach. Plenty of split tail running around. Watch your wallet.

nubo said you can't eat groundhogs, he doesn't know what he's missing. If they are cooked right and you can get past the smell, you've got it licked. I'm going to be hunting dogs pretty soon. I was working on my barn at my new place last evening and saw 6 dogs running around together on my property. They probably wouldn't hurt anybody but with 2 young boys that will be playing in the woods, I'm not going to give them the chance. If people really loved their pets they would keep track of them.

if youve got time to travel, there are a few big game hunts out there that time of year.
i believe that colorado has pronghorn hunts starting either mid or late july, usually they hunt them out of a blind.
some states spring black bear seasons last into or through june
alaska caribou starts august first i believe.
wyoming has antelope in some areas that starts mid august.

just a few ideas

Pigs, hogs, pineywood rooters, whatever you want to call them can be hunted year round in some/ most states.

Two friends and I just booked a stay in FL to shoot boars and hogs. We are going in july. It will be hot but we are all teachers so we have all summer off. I have also looked into pronghorn in CO but it was twice the money. Good luck.

I am probably going to do a hunt at Tioga Game Preserve this late summer for hogs. This place is 1500 acres, and has some big hogs for very cheap.

You could always try bowfishing. I've always wanted to try that out, just never have found the time.

Groundhogs are great eating! Remove the small glands under the legs and you are good to go. I like to fry them up like chicken. They really are delicious.

Archery deer season starts the second weekend in July here in california. Runs for 3 weeks, and than closes down for 2 weeks, at which point the general season opens up, usually around the 2nd or 3rd week in August.

4 months and counting...
