How Many Have Slacked Off This Winter???

We've had a sloppy winter in my parts making it hard on me to get out and shoot regularly like I usally do and when I finally did get out the other day man I could tell. My muscles have gotten weaker and staying at full draw long enough to settle the pin in became tough after a dozen or so shot. How about y'all? How many of you haven't kept up on your practice!

Haven't shot in a while. Getting new sights and new strings soon and just didn't see the point.

I had great plans to shoot a league this winter and it just never happened. It's also to cold for me to shoot outside durring the winter for it to be enjoyable to me. Maybe if I lived further south but not in Maine.

Shooting 2-3 times a week right now. I'll gradually increase as we get closer to bow season. Right before bow season starts I shoot every day even if it is only a dozen arrows.

I almost never shoot theru the winter or spring. This year I am hunting turkeys with the bow, so I would like to be shooting now but the weather says otherwise. We are finally getting a warming trend and I still have a month and a half to the season. Plenty of time yet to go.

I dont' shoot too much over the winter. I'll pick it up once in awhile and go to the indoor range for fun. Mainly because (believe it or not) it messes with my golf swing:D. However I go at it hard for 2 months before the season opens here shooting everyday. By the time opening day rolls around I'm as ready as I can possibly be even if I shot all winter. Plus it's not too much fun outside in Central NY when it's -20 out and 75 feet of snow.

This has probably been discussed before, but do you think shooting all year round as opposed to getting really tuned a couple months before the season makes you any better or more prepared?
It's great for the people that can and do shoot all year and obviously it can't hurt your performance. But in the long run do you get "better" by shooting all year round or do you think there's a point where you're as good as you are going to get and as ready as you will be?

I do think you will get better by shooting year around. Enough to warrant year around shooting........ for you average bowhunter I would say no.

I wouldn't say there is a point where you will be as ready as you will ever be....but there is a point where good enough is good enough.

Confidence is KEY to shooting. If one practices 2 months and feels 100% confident in their ability I say go for it.
