Hello All,
I don't post often, but I read the posts here all the time. I was curious who is as excited about the Wisconsin opener this weekend as I am. I will be leaving for my land on Fridady morning getting ready for the Saturday Morning hunt. The weather has turned so beautiful, that this should be a great opener.
To all that are hunting, Have a Great, SAFE and Sucessful hunting season.

You bet I'm pumped about the opener. Looks like the weather is going to be cool enuff for some deer activity too. Heading out from work at 3 for a 3 hour trip to where we're hunting. Hope to get the freezer filled up again.

My brother in-law is getting married on opening day<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle> , but I'll be out on sunday. Better take advantage of the cooler weather , next week it might be back in the high 80's again.

For sure, I'll be out. Been scouting pretty heavily, and have a few stands set up. But I have my eyes set on an extremely heavy, dark 8-10 point. He's nice, probably go 130's. Hopefully we will see.

I may just pass on the bow season all together around here. I'm not going out this weekend, heading to Ontario in 1 week so I don't care about this week. The more I think about these idiots running the show the more pissed I get. They have all these pre-season hunts that I can kill anything I want without a lisence. Now they want us to buy a bow tag for a season that will last a month, when the deer have been blasted at most of the summer. On top of that, they say kill them all, but you have to shoot a doe first to earn a buck. Now correct me if I'm wrong, a doe around here will have 1 or 2 fawns in the spring. How many doe do you think 1 mature buck will breed this fall? 10? 20? 30? The DNR says, lets just let that buck walk and hope some one kills him later. How many chances do they think a buck like that will give a person? This eradication Zone is the biggest joke our DNR has given us since they tried to sell us SAK.
On the lighter side; I did just receive an offer from an old high school buddy to bow hunt up by him. He has access to a few hundred acres up by Adams out of this cluster *^#+ of a "core area". So I'll pick up a bow tag when I return from moose hunting and spend some time up there.

heading out to Clark co. But will be thinking about my Elk hunt in the next weekend after. I really should blow off the opener to do some hill climbs and get my bow tuned for longer range shootin. Looks like there is more big buck action this year over any year i have seen up in my spot. It was t-zone last year and along with that hot weather last year a lot of bucks got left to grow .
