Decided to break down & get Game Camera but don't know where to start. What are the most important considerations? What do you recommend? Any information will be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Walmart has the Photo Camera for 129.00. I got one about 3 weeks ago and really like it so far. It takes 2 9v batteries for the unit and 2 AA for the camera they only last a week but I like to check it or move it every week so no big deal except the expense. It has the 1, 5, and 20 min timer. It has a laser light for setup to aim your area. It has security cable and lock. It has a switch to turn off when you walk up to check it. It has just about all the features of all the expensive ones so you arent out a lot if someone wants it worse tan you. Wouldnt it be nice if everyone was honest and not theives...

Sounds like its working fine. My Trailtimer Photohunter has been in numerous spots over the last 7 weeks. It has taken about 120 pictures to date. Still has the same original set of batteries!

Some models suck down batteries and others don't. It's a big expense over a couple years. I have the TrailTimer Photo hunter too and I've only put batteries in it 3 times in over a year. Only once (last week) were they actually dead, I usually just change them because I feel they are due to be changed.
For some reason (not as many deer around I suppose) I've only gotten about 30 pictures this summer. What a let down. Only 2 different bucks. A photogenic spike and an 8. I'd like to ring the necks of the turkeys that are taking up all my film though. hehe.
anyway, good luck.

hunter44.......I checked my batteries They are Lithium. Thats what the Photohunter recomends. I talked to a buddy who has the same camera and he said he goes 3 months between changing the 9 volts. Lithium will be cheaper and way easier in the long run.!
By the way, just got my film back from the last 6 days, 21 shots, mostly does and fawns. Did get one buck, a smaller 6 point.

The Critter Getter Game Camera is the best made in my opinion. The Owner, John Sposato has went to great lengths to build the finest camera on the market. Its features blow the Cam Trakker out of the water, and it is alot cheaper.
I own two, and sold my cam trakker because the camtrakker took too many phantom shots "(blank pictures)" I have not had that problem at all with the "CCGC".
I ordered them at eders. If you want to look at them, here is a URL
http://www.eders.com/specials/brands/crittergetter/
I will post some pics from my cam in a few days if anyone is interested in seeing the end result of this camera.
I sure there are other good ones out there, but this is the best I have seen.

I have Moultree2 from walmart. Second set of pictures came out ok. You cannot set in direct sunlight. Paid 98.00. To early to recomend yet. Have to change two D size batteries after each roll.

I tried a moultre, but the camera was alot cheaper, "(a generic brand)" than the critter Getter. My Critter Getters came with the cannon night owl camera. If I am going to invest that kind of money into a camera, I want one that is going to last.
