ORIGINAL: extreme1 I still am shocked at the price you got the mount done at $503.50.I have 3 head mounts done and they cost me $500 bones apeice,Its true, you definately get what you pay for and I would have no problem getting another one done at this price. The wife wants a full body mount of a buck jumping a fence and the price will run me $1500.Im not sure what the average price is but $1500 sounds reasonable. |

I have to say for 500 bux your taxidermist did a heck of a job! I think full body mounts run 1500-2000 around here. I can't really tell the small details but the pics look good!

I had no idea it was such a deal. When the other shops within 100miles wanted $800+ I was like dang. Then he told me around $500 total I was like I'm on my way. Took the deer to him on Nov 11, 2004....it was done Feb 12, 2005. Awesome turnaround time to say the least. Tax and all it came to $503.50. I have thought about going ahead and getting the head mount done...($275). I also priced a full body buck jumping the fence at $900-1000 depending on how long it takes to get it set up, from the same guy. Seems like he has great prices, and his work is awesome.
I've looked at the deer about all day and sometimes it looks like it could run off the platform at anytime. I can get close ups if you guys want to see any detail. Everything is great. The guy done a super job. I've heard you get what you pay for, and if that's the case this is the best $500 I have ever spent hunting wise. He done a marvelous job to sayt he very least. I don't see one problem with anything on the deer....the only noticable spot is alittle bit of short hair where the arrow went in, and came out. But it never left a bare spot, just a place where the hair is "trimmed". So far I added a few fake leaves to the platform to cover most of the wood, and I put my arrow underneath the deer. When I shot the little guy my arrow went through him and into a small rotted log about the size of my forearm. I saved the arrow/log as I found it, and now it's under the deer. Sorta looks like the shot just missed. Has a cool effect...once I get it finished I will add some pic's. I really want to set up a small shrub or bush on the back side towards his head. That would complete the picture as far as I'm concerned. |
