Default Arrow Length Question

This is probably a stupid question but I was wondering the effects of arrow length on accuracy? I currently shooting Beman Camo Hunter 400's which are 9.1 grains and cut to 28". However, I just ordered a dozen of the new Easton A/C superslims 400's which weight 9.7 grains. I have been thinking about cutting them 1 to 1.5 inches shorter, which would be 26.5 or 27", in hopes of not losing as much speed. Due to the fact that I have drop zone rest, I have plenty of room to play with. Even at 26" the arrow tip would be at least 1" in front of my rest. Though it may have some effect on spine, Easton recommends the same shaft for my setup whether 26" or 28". I have heard that longer arrows are more accurate than short ones, especially at long distances. Is this true? What are your thoughts on this idea? Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

PS: Switchback @ 60 lbs @ 28" Draw

In addition to spine, changing arrow length will also change your FOC some. I doubt this will make much of a difference but I'm also no expert in arrow aerodynamics so take it for what its worth.

All the mentioned will change somewhat, but probably not so much that you'll be able to tell. Especially if it's only an inch shorter. At 27" you should still be just fine.
