How do I get the brass nocks off? I dont have the fancy shmancy pliers to take them off with, and I really dont have the money to buy any either.

I shoot a release loop and still tie a nock point above the loop to make sure it does not move. Tied on nocking points rule.

Dairy,

In the past I have taken them off with a flat screw driver and a pair of pliers. I used the screw driver to carefully spread the nock then the pliers to get it off. You must take it easy though or you will cut your serving. Or, you could just go to a local pro shop and they will probably take it off at no charge.

I also tie my own and it's been years since I removed a brass nock the "Primitive Pete" way.

That is the only way to go, after you shoot with a tie on nock you'll never go back!

Try using a small screw dirver to pry it open. Slide it off the serving to the string, squeeze the string with your fingers and pull it off.
