LA Bowhunter, I haven't tried the stand your speaking of, but I'd find it difficult to believe it'd be any quieter than your Viper or my Ol'man. The Ol'man uses cables but is inside a rubber hose. It in itself makes no noise. The only noise I hear is from the bark of the tree itself and I doubt any material compressing the bark could be quieter. For instance, I made as much or as little noise hugging the tree while climbing in the past before hand climbers and you can't get much quieter than skin and cloth...<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I inspected a Warren & Sweat Imperial belt climber...The belts are quiter than the cables while actually engaging the belt, but does not seem to be any quiter while climbing.
