Going to Shoot the Switchback

Im going on Saturday to shoot it. I LIKE IT...its mine! I can't wait. I called all the local pro shops the best price I got so far was $669.00.

Im thinking about going with the NAP Quicktune Drop Away Rests for the Matthews Bows. Does anyone have any experience with that rest? Pro's Con's.

Also thinking about the Trophy Ridge Pendulum Sight...Pro's and Con's on that?

Thanks in advance.

IMO there really is no need with pends. with the speed of todays bows.

A pendulumn only claims accurate to I believe a 5 inch circle and only compensate out to 30 yards or so. I would say you are better off with fixed pins or shooting one single pin rather than a pendulumn.

Good luck with the new bow[8D]

Man the top end bows are all so expensive these days it just makes me sick.[:'(] Let us know what you think of the switchback. I would really like to put it through the paces myself. If I didn't literally get sick at the thought of going in to the only shop in our area that carries Mathews, I would.

I've had my Switchback for 6 weeks now, and I LOVE IT!!!
I switched from the NAP QT Dropaway to the QAD Ultra on this bow....for 2 reasons:
1. The QAD Ultra completely encompasses the arrow
2. The QAD Ultra holds the arrow up in position...even if you have to let down your draw.
Good luck!!

Lets face it...bow prices are ridiculous! That said, I will purchase a Matthews or a Bowtech sometime before fall. BUT...I currently shoot an older PSE and for the past several years have talked myself out of a new bow as the summer came to an end. I love my old PSE and it has lots of sentimental value. I'm long overdue though. But...when a totally rigged out bow costs:

Bow: $650-$700
Drop away rest: $70-$90
Quality Sight: $60-$75
Quiver: $75-$90

I don't know....when I can by a quality rifle and scope (yes, I hunt with both) for well under what a top of the line bow costs these days and have change left over...I think it's borderline crazy. But then again, they are only charging what we're willing to pay. Enough of my ranting.

How do you know if you like it if you have not shot it yet? Might I suggest shooting several different models to see which one fits you best? It may be the switchback, but you may find something else that works better for you. Good luck!

m00sedroll, I think just the opposite. It's amazing to me that If I want to get a quality scope I have to pay as much as my bow.

Well, Im going Friday to shoot the Switchback, I shot the Bowtech Allegiance last week, and have to say it is the sweetest thing ive ever shot. But Im going to go shoot the Switchback this week, and one of the two are coming home with me,, But the Switchback is gonna have to be something special to outdo the Allegiance, and Ive always shot Matthews. Cant wait to see if its as great as everyone has said.

RE: Going to Shoot the Switchback

I did JUST THAT! My beloved bow shop set up BOTH the Switchback and the Alliegance for me. I shot them both side-by-side for 2 hours. I had it in my head when I walked in there that a Bowtech was the bow to have. I went home with the Switchback. Even Eddie, a local legend and custom-string-builder extrodinare - who, I might add, is an avid Bowtech shooter - walked in and took a couple of shots with each bow:
"I believe I like that Mathews, better" he said.
I had already paid for it....
Good luck!!
