Damn MQ1shooter,...I always thought I believed English teachers to be a "picky lot".
Thanks for the confirmation!
See what you did? I'm afraid to post this because its probably riddled with error! Do you constantly find yourself critiquing everything you read? Does the fire fighter get a rush of adreniline at the first whiff of smoke,...even if its a camp fire? Does the performer become excited at the thought of a "hand clap"? Does the........ OK MQ1shooter, I'll take my chances.
Bow-addict, that was a great story! Be proud of it! AND I like what farm hunter said. I like Rob's approach but keep in mind that your representing us all and you may be able to do just as farm hunter suggests in:
<BLOCKQUOTE id=quotequote:
Most true antis really have the wrong impression, do not add feul to her fire, you never know, you may have the chance to plant a seed of doubt in her convictions, through your actions.

No worries, Twang ol' buddy! (Though you did leave an apostrophe out of "it's"! )
Yeah, you're right. Not only do I enjoy writing and reading -- as well as used to enjoy teaching composition, before it started to consume too much of my time -- it is hard to read something and not "critique" it, as you put it. I don't think I mean to; it's just that errors and the like just seem to "pop" out at me.
I can usually kinda turn that part of my brain off when I'm in here chatting with my buddies, but it gets harder when I'm reading something in a newspaper, or in Reader's Digest or something. Maybe a lot of people do this, but I still find mis-spelled words and grammatical errors often in published works.
The bad part of it is, I can't bring myself to just "let loose" and type without mistakes. Even when I'm using colloquialisms (slang expressions), I have to spell them correctly! I even correctly punctuate when I'm chatting with my friends on instant messenger!
Aargh! It's a curse! (Notice the apostrophe signalling the contraction of "it" and "is"?) When's deer season open again?

My standard response to the antis when they ask the Bambi question is, "Have you ever smacked a mosquito?" Or sometimes I say, "Yes, I kill Bambi -- and his mother and father if I get the chance." But that's only if I'm feeling ornery. Be careful about the college professor generalizations. This one loves to hunt.
