Default January 4, 2004- January 31, 2005

Today is a sad, sad day. I was checking my bow to see if everything was good. Kind of like an after season inspection. I pressed my bow, but I let it out too fast. My bow dry fired and the cam bent, the limbs are cracked, and the riser is shot.

It was on Christmas day,
My life was running slow.
I woke up to say,
It's time to buy a bow.

I talked to all you you fellas,
You guys told me to buy on feels.
I logged onto Cabela's,
And searched through the deals.

Several bows stuck out in my mind,
But one turned on the light.
It was as if I were blind,
I had found the Fire-Flite.

I ordered it and waited.
I really wanted to hold it.
The long wait I hated,
So I began to sit.

On the fourth of January,
A knock sounded at my door.
Cabela's treated me fairly,
What I say made my jaw hit the floor.

It was my PSE bow.
I took it out of the box.
It just goes to show,
That it was as tough as an ox.

I put it all together.
I couldn't wait to shoot.
I waited on the weather,
It finally gave the boot.

Down to a field we went,
And I shot many a time.
Several hours we spent,
My bow seemed just fine.

A little truble we had,
But it all worked out in the end.
I never got mad,
Because this bow was my best friend.

We went hunting one time.
We'd never seen a deer.
It was if I ate a lime,
I was grinning from ear to ear.

I turned around to show her,
What was behind the tree.
We only saw a blurr,
The deer had seen me.

The season sadly ended.
I decided to take her apart.
I hope she wasn't offended,
The next move broke my heart.

I let the pressure off the press.
It all happened too fast.
I looked down at the mess,
That time was out last.

I began taking her apart.
I started to wonder,
If I broke her heart,
Because of my stupid blunder.

I put her in a box.
I started to cry.
She sounded like rocks.
I began to ask why.

I knew this was my fault.
I shouldn't have messed with thee.
This move broke my heart,
Please forgive me.

You were a good friend.
We played every day.
My actions put you to end,
Why did it have to end this way?

I will keep you forever.
Your my dear friend you know.
Throw you away never,
For I will always love you my bow.

Call up Cabelas or PSE and tell them your story. You may be surprised by what they say. If you were pressing it with WWAG's press, even if you get it out too fast, it shouldnt have made the bow explode, unless there were prior unnoticed problems.

zak that's talent, wow realy good, its bad that your bow blew up but like nubo said call PSE and let them know. I can't imagine that the bow being only a few weeks old and them not fixing or replacing it for free.

That was a good read Zach and I am sorry to hear about your bow. However I do agree with the previous post. Call Cabelas and/or PSE. They both have, arguably, the best customer service in the business. One of them should help to make it right for you, even if it does cost a small fee.

zak, It seems like you have posted on here about 3 or 4 times that you have dry fired your bow. What gives? I would guess most have never dry fired one once let alone multiple times, especially knowing the possible consequences. I think if I couldn't be more careful myself, I would think about taking my equipment to the pro shop for future work. Especially if you are going to get a new bow.

I did dry fire it before but not like this. This was a dry fire at full draw. I did contact PSE and we'll see what they say.

Zak,

You didn't. If you wanted a new bow you could have traded it in or sold it but to blow it up, Oh my.

I wish you the best of luck getting it fixed or replaced.

Sorry for the shameless plug but I have a really cheap and perfect condition PSE on ebay right now that has no bids and is starting at $20 with no reserve if you don't have money to get something brand new. This was my first bow that I bought new, and is in great shape, I would imagine the auction will end at WELL under $100 if you want something that is reliable and cheap. It is deadly accurate and quiet too, but not the fastest thing around. I have killed a LOT of deer with it. It is a 28-30" draw and has 60-70lb limbs. I would love to see another person be able to kill a few deer with it and hopefully get involved in a lifetime hobby for cheap.
