I have 4 pins- 20, 30, 40, 50. But I usually try to stick to the 20-30 yard range. However my first deer was at the 40 yard pin. I am confident in my shot out to 40 yards. I practice that distance alot and I can get a 3 inch group shooting 3 arrows.
I have tried with 5 arrows but busted of 2 nocks.

Last year I switched from a pendulum(1 pin) to a standard 4 pin sight. I'm now set up for 25, 35, 45, 55. I've only used the 25 yd pin for hunting so far though.

I don't hunt fields and my stands are in the woods so I use 1 fixed pin that gives me a killing shot out to 30 yds. I have a flat shooting bow and sight the pin dead center at 20 yds. The arrow only drops a couple of inches at 30 and the close shots are right there. 1 pin keeps it uncomplicated and doesn't tempt me into taking long shots.

I use a Sight Master adjustable sight so I sight it in at 20,30,40 and when I hunt I set it at 25 yards and leave it there.
