Meeting with member's
Today I took a trip to Bass Pro in Vaughn,as I was looking through the Archery section my cell phone rang ,I answered and this fella ask's nubo" where are you ?I said I'm at BassPro in the Archery section ,he said ya " so am I.So As I looked around I notice a guy standing in the rifle section who looked as though he was looking for someone ,I went up and asked him is your name Terry,he said no",now I'm feeling a little dumb ,so I head back over to the archery section and I hear someone call out nubo" ,I turn around and there he was standing there with a big grin on his face , TerryM ,we looked around the store for a bit and then we went for something to drink and a total hunting conversation. After about 45 minute's Terry say's let's take a walk back into Basspro ,you said you wanted to buy a new stand so we'll go get you a new stand ,LOL.We checked out the bow's and I ended up coming out of that store about $400.00 poorer{ New Treestand} .Thank's alot Terry LMAO. The reason I've wroten this post is just to say what a pleasure it was to meet someone from this forum, and if it wasn't for this forum we probably would have never met . Terry is a great guy and helping me out with a Hunting trip for myself and Extreme 1 and I certainly do appreciate it . I also was helping him find a bow that might be suitable for his need's ,and I think we have accomplished that .I had him checkout the Buckmaster G2's ,Reflex Grizzly ,Parker ??and a coule of P.S.E. Typhoon. Now it's up to him to decide which one of these bow's suit's him best.
TerryM! your a great guy and I hope to see you again in the near future, now once you've gotten yourself all setup with your new bow we'll get out there and get you a Turkey with it. nubo |
RE: Meeting with member's
That's pretty cool nubo!
|
RE: Meeting with member's
Yea thats awesome...I don't personally know anyone from this forum.
|
RE: Meeting with member's
Funny you should post this, Nubo. I've been wanting to organize a hunt for team members at some ranch. I don't know where but, I would like to shoot the bull after our hunt each night with many members from this form. So far I've been to Len's shop, which is nice and he can talk bow all day long, and saw another person now posting on this site who I've hunted with in the past.
I would like to know who else out there would like to travel to a hunting spot a shoot the bull? |
RE: Meeting with member's
Fieldmouse !
Although I never hunted on your team I'd love to do that ,but I'm restricted to 1 hunt trip a season and I guess it would be out of the question this season. It's pretty neat when you meet new guy's who all have the same thing's in common .I think that your idea is a great one at that ,I only wish we could make it happen. nubo |
RE: Meeting with member's
I would love the opportunity to hunt with any die hards out there. I have never hunted out of Minnesota for whitetails and would love the chance to do so. I just don't believe in the big ticket hunt. IMO the expensive guides and such are ruining something that god gave us all. Why should we have to pay that top buck just because some rich guy can afford it cause I certainly can't. I do just fine without them quite frankly. But I am interested in any hunt that we can put together within reason. That would be a blast.

RE: Meeting with member's
And no, I am not sour even though it may sound like it. It's just getting harder and harder to find a hole to hunt. Everyone is leasing land for corporate uses and it stinks. There are some things that money shouldn't be able to buy. And thats the great outdoors.

RE: Meeting with member's
I agree Tribal. The looks of your kills tells me that you were the sleeper of the contest. I guess maybe I should start looking in Mn for hunting places.
I pose the need to go some place based on the size of the group, 10 I think would be max that we would get together maybe as much as 20. You need some where to go that can hold that many people. I would also want a place that monsters are a potential. I don't know there is always public hunting out there some where. Who was it that went to Ks and dropped a monster on public land? Just a thought. Nubo, I'm too am very restricted to my trips. Last year I went on a long range fishing trip and had a blast. Next year my buddy want's to go to Alaska. I'm waiting for the right moment to drop that shoe. |
RE: Meeting with member's
Fieldmouse are you still planning to hunt Idaho next year? If you are let me know if I can lend any advice or help out in any way. Yes I know that I was a pain in your but last year but I misjudged you and I was wrong.

RE: Meeting with member's
Yah Nubo it was great to meet up with ya. Now I know why you call yourself NUBO. You just need to buy every new bow you see! Admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery:D Just messing with ya. I really appreciated the experienced and unbiased advice on archery gear, we will be discussing this further before I plunk down the money( but I really like that reflex grizzly). I'm seriously thinking I need to thin out the bear population at my deer camp this year, might be a good place to see how deadly that BOWTECH is on yogi. Talk to ya later.
|
RE: Meeting with member's
I'm definetly game for that Terry,I'd just love to smoke a yogi.I like to help out when i can Terry and as long as want my advice i'll certainly be willing to help you out in any way that I can .Your absolutely right about getting out with just a treestand and sock's and a pair of glove's because once I got home here i thought about 3 or 4 more item's that i had wished I had bought when i was there .The wife just looked at me and said another treestand ??? why another treestand don't you have 3 or 4 of them LOL.I'll be looking forward to meeting up with you again Terry hopefully it won't be too long .I also agree that the Reflex look's to be right up your alley .The thing is once you start buying gear it's hard to stop. If you've got any other question's feel free to call me,and as you know already this forum can answer any qiestion's you need answer's for as well.
Till next time nubo |
RE: Meeting with member's

RE: Meeting with member's
I have had the opportunity to meet several forum members in person and must say that I am very happy to have had the opportunity. There are many folks on here that I have conversed with for almost a decade now and don't even know what they look like. Hopefully I will get the chance to meet alot more of you.
Good post nubo. |
RE: Meeting with member's
Agreed with all previous posts. I am a relative newcomer compared to many. Within about 3 weeks of me joining I hooked up with Adams for a bowhunt locally. In the works I have plans to meet up with BowHunter Cop and Dragthor. When you think of how large geographically the board covers it is immense. When you start talking to members you realize how small the world is. Bowhuntercop works in the town next to the one I grew up in and my family still lives there. He has a sister who lives about 45 minutes from me! I managed to pin down the exit off the highway someone else was describing in WV as I have family 1 mile from the exit. Low and behold that member has friends that live up here near me as well.
I'm always open to traveling to hunt either gun or bow. Folks are always welcome to entertain coming to NH be happy to have y'all. Fewer deer than most places, not to many food plots and plenty of public land. |
RE: Meeting with member's
Getting the chance to meet and hunt with some of my team members or any of one else on this forum in person would be great. It would bring a more personal touch to the teams and forum. Personly i have never meet any one here from this forum in person. Most of the hunters on here seem to be from the northern states. I live in the deep south. GA.to be exact please don`t` hold that against me:D I would be willing to tavel any were`s to get the chance to hunt with some of? (like tribal sead die hards out there). I have always wanted to hunt some where up north.

RE: Meeting with member's
That's cool. How did he know your phone #? Did I miss that?
I was able to get together with NHBuck for a hunt this fall. Unfortunately the deer weren't moving that day but it was nice to have meet Steve. Hopefully we'll be able to get together for a couple of hunts next fall. |
RE: Meeting with member's
No you didn't miss that .I was heading to Tornto and I knew that Terry lived in Bradford and that I would have to bypass Bradford ,so I sent him an e-mail that morning letting him know that I would heading to Basspro .I never heard back from him before I left and I was still surprised that he showed just the same.

RE: Meeting with member's
Nubo,
well I snapped a little earlier than I wanted to. I went back in to Basspro today and ended leaving with the Grizzly and a dozen carbons!! Got the 27-30" 60-70lb one. The shafts are pretty heavy (11gpi) but I got the 70lb one and figure that it won't be a bad thing on a big black bear. They were only $54.99/dz(redhead brand).I shot it a couple of times with my fingers only and I will either buy a release or bisquit rest asap. I had to lie to the wife and told her I bought the bow used, so go along with the story if you talk to her;) Talk to you soon. |
RE: Meeting with member's
Thought we're gonna discuss this first LOL.Good going Terry ,i think you've made a great choice.

RE: Meeting with member's
Tribal where are you from in MN? I also am a MN dweller. Maybe we could chat hunting sometime. I'm way up north on the range.
|
RE: Meeting with member's
I am from the Saint Cloud area. I rifle and Grouse hunt up north of Grand Rapids. Where you at on the range?
