Default RE: Wasp JakHammer mechanical??

Its probably the head I'll be shoting this year. A good hardcore bowhunter friend has shot numerous deer(8-10) the last two years and has had excellant luck. I wittnessed one he shot and it was impressive. Huge blood trail! Deer went 35 yards.

He told me all the deer he has shot with this head have gone from 25 to 50 yards maximum. Average 35 to 40 yards. They have all had a large blood trail and penetration thru both sides. ( about half of the shots were complete pass throughs) He said not to shoot the head unless you have good KE. His is about 67 KE. This head has a 1 3/4" cutting diameter. It requires alot to go through, and you need to get all the way through to be truely effective.

I should add that this guy is a really good shot and won't shoot past 25 yards. I'll probably shoot this head, my KE is about 65.

PRACTICE....PRACTICE....PRACTICE......SUCCESS!

They are strong, sharp, and accurate. They don't open as fast as some other heads, about the same as the spitfires I tried. I would suggest a minimum of 60 ft/ls of KE if you shoot the 100 grn or larger heads as these have a 1 3/4" cut. 55 ft/lbs should be fine for the smaller 75 grn head. Just tune your bow well and put the arrow where it belongs.

Great heads and they work well for me, I would be careful and not take any sharp angled shots with any mechanical heads, they may have a chance to deflect. Keep your shots yardage close and you will have one of the most awesome blood trails you have ever seen.
A friend of mine uses my bow and with all four deer shot last year, the blood trails where huge and my friend shot both of his deer at 5 steps on the ground and both of mine were 8 steps on the ground. My friends first deer ran 10-15 yards and the second deer he shot just beside the neck and the arrow went all the way through the deer and it dropped where he shot.

I shoot a PSE Thundercloud @ 65 pound draw.
