Default Vtec or Switchback

Has anyone compared the Vtec and the Switchback together. Ive shot the new bowtechs and the equalizer system just doesnt thrill me. I think Ive narrowed my choices down to Vtec or Switchback. Im going to shoot them both next week but I would also like other peoples opinions on the 2 bows. Ive shot the Vtec once so I was more leaning towards it but yet again everyone in our whole town thinks that Mathews is the best thing since popcorn. Ive also heard that the newer Hoyt bows are faster than what the IBO speed says?

I like the Switchback, the Hoyt bows have always been slower than the advertised IBO speeds. The Switchback is smoother, faster, and better balanced than the Vtec. Hands down I would pick the Mathews. But it's your choice, so choose what you feel best. And don't let your town decide what you choose.

I bought the Switchback, without shooting the Vtec. I Love it.

Picked up a V-tec a couple of weeks ago and its crazy how nice the new riser design is. The cam and a half system is balnced and fast. The bow is incredibly vibration free and shoots my best groups of any bow owned. I have no experience with the Matthews so cannot say on it. I am too in love with the Hoyt line. The VTEC is the the new bow!

Agree 100%. I shot both, and the Switchback was significantly smoother and quieter, despite the Vtec being completely set up and the Mathews having nothing but an arrow rest.

But, see for yourself. Get what YOU like.

Personally, the BowTechs are still the best, IMO, but if you can't (or won't) get a BowTech, Mathews is the way to go after that.

We didn't chrono the Hoyt and Mathews when we tested them, but the Mathews sure seemed to zip them out every bit as fast as the Hoyt, IMO. The big difference I noticed was that the draw cycle on the Mathews was significantly smoother.

Very few twin cam bows or cam and a half bows I've shot were smooth drawing on but I would have to admit the vtech drew very smooth, I have yet to shoot the vtech but it feels great. When it come down to it I would stick to the switchback, mainly because of the string suppresors, I love em nothing is quieter espicially when hunting in heavily hunted areas like I do, quiet is everything. Another thing I would like to add, from what I have noticed companies like hoyt and bowtech are not as picky about there dealerships like Mathews is and you need to be real careful where you buy your bow from because I have seen these bows being sold from bait shops and shops that don't have a clue what there doing, and I have had problems personally with shops like these when it comes to warranty of the bows. Mathews only sells from proshops who know exactly what their doing and you would most likely not have to worry about warranty problems.

What type of truck do you drive, because I doubt a VTech would fit in it. I have never heard of a Switchback, what hp does it put out. Also this should probably go under the off season forum.
