I am about to get a beautiful used Hoyt that is grey and blue. Does anyone really know if camo'd bows are all that important for deer hunting?
I notice you can get about everything in camo. I'm thinking it must be a matter of eliminate all the risks of being seen that you can. I could have paid extra for a camo rangefinder, but I couldn't see why I would pay more just to make it easier to lose. I put bright orange stickers on it.
I was thinking this subject must have been beat to death on a forum such as this, but I searched for a while and did not see it on earlier threads. I have always wanted to ask a deer, but they're dead by the time I catch up to them.

I've got a past neighbor who used to use his target bow for bowhunting; he'd just get camo "sock tubes" to cover the limbs. That cut down on most of the likely glare on his bow. I can't really remember seeing anything like that, but it'd be easy enough to make them if you had access to a sewing machine.

MQ1, I was thinking the same thing about socks. This bow is too nice - I have been shooting it for a while at the range. I'm gonna get it regardless of color.

I have to differ with most of y'all. I'm of the opinion that camo is not nearly as important as being still if the deer is looking your way. I do use camo clothing, but don't overdo it on gear and the like. Take a look around at the woods, there's just about every shade of light and dark and just about every shape imaginable. Those bow limbs are just another stick to the deer.
Re: the clothing, who needs camo underwear, unless they're hunting in their underwear? I use what I have (blue, red, black, whatever), and make sure I have a camo 'top cover.'
I do, however, agree that anything that's very reflective should be dulled down a bit. A true, bright reflection is not a natural thing.
