Why on earth would anyone cut the rack off of that beauty?

Strange indeed!

As to why he would cut the rack off, it has to be cut off to mount it. As for the story, I have no idea. What I do know is that I read about it right after he shot it in NAW. Also, it states in the article the date it was shot, Oct. 3, 2000. Can someone explain how they could fake the deer two years BEFORE it was shot.

Indeed the deer was killed in 2000, I beleive it just was offically entered into the record books this year by the P&Y club. I. have the NAW mag with it in back from 2001. Truly a huge deer for 3 1/2 years old!!

I could be wrong what year it was killed, I thought it was 2 years ago

There where rumors about the deer being ill or diseased, rumors on how it was killed and such. never heard anymore about it.

Yes, it is a huge buck.

I doesn't matter how long ago it was shot. It might not be the new no. 2 anymore but it's still no. 2 in the books.

When you Ohio boys get one pushing 270 then you can come here and dethrone the great state of MISSOURI

That's a great buck and Missouri has some great deer..........................but just think with the habbitat and genetics that are in place how many big deer that state could be producing if you didn't have rifle season right in the middle of the rut.

Certainly an awesome buck but as mentioned that is a buck from years ago, not recent events?
