Default Help!! Noisy Loggy Bayou stands

I own 4 Loggy Bayou Classic climbing stand that I use as fixed position stands which are installed on the tree using both the metal band and the seat strap. As the weather gets colder I am having alot of trouble with the stands making creaking sounds which seam to be coming mostly from the seat supports. Does anyone have a fix for this problem, I dont know if I should tighten the bolts more or if this would compress the teflon washers and make the problem worse . Come to think of it I have a Summit Copperhead doing the same thing also.[:@]
Thank you
BD

I had a squeaking problem with my Remington too but it was with the floor board. All I did was bolt on a plywood board.

Your problem... umm maybe PB Blaster? PB fixes all squeaks for me. LOL

BD I Know what your talking about, I have a Loggy Bayou and once in awhile it makes a squeak. Usually it's right off the bat...i.e.; the first time sitting in a setting. The first time it happened I had a bunch of stuff going wrong leading up to the moment (you know the mornings) and after giving a few hops and it not going away, out of frustration I just slammed my butt down on it and it went away. Sooo a temporary fix is to slam it![8D]

I too am curious to a permanent fix to the ordeal

Try lubing the seat slides and washers with vegetable oil. Mine also creaks when the seat is cinched too tight to the tree.

I used to have a Loggy, but have moved on. What I found I had to do to get rid of the noise you desribe was to loosen the seat strap just a bit and let the seat "float" with the rest of the stand. The notch that goes against the tree was still into the bark slightly, but the torque was eliminated between all the joints.

Thanks guys I'll try that out. I do tend to crank the seat real tight to the tree,
Thanks again
