Default Backyard Buck PICs

Woods behind the house is a nice funnel. My 3-D buck gets hammered every fall. Had a twitchy little doe come in, followed by this guy. They hung out for 3 hours, waiting for her to come into estrus. At one point, he bedded 20 yards from me. Of course, bow season closed the weekend before. [:@]

Are you telling me that your not allowed to hunt during any other season with a bow or was it all closed?

I know my state has some stupid rule that you can only hunt during black powder season in state bow only areas. For me this means my backyard and in the neighborhood.

Yes, Fieldmouse, season's closed for a week between end of bow and opening of gun. The Founding Fathers here in the People's Republic of Massachusetts deem it prudent to give the poor deer a rest before unleashing a hoard of gun hunters. Of course, we can use a bow (or muzzleloader) during gun and there's a late season "primitive weapon" season after than, runs to the end of December -- bow or muzzleloader.
