I would get a No-peep and some kind of arm guard to put over your hunting jacket to keep your sleeve out of the way of your string. The No-Peep is great since it shows you if you are torquing your bow. You would be suprised how much you could be torquing your bow when you have all your heavy hunting clothes on. This has happened to me in the past and these two products made all the difference. I would put money on it that your bow was torqued when you shot at those deer. Any torque can throw you shot off by feet not inches especially on short axle to axle bows.

supaarcher, do you by chance shoot with both eyes open? my father had the weirdest thing happen to him this season. he shot at what he called a "dandy eight" only to miss 3 ft. to the left. after the deer left, he drew his bow and put his pins on exactly where the deer was standing. just on a hunch, (he shoots both eyes open) he closed his right eye and lined the pins up where the deer was standing with his left eye. Then he closed his left eye and looked through his peep by opened his right eye back up only to see that his bow was aiming right where his arrow flew three ft. to the left! simply, his left eye took over his vision. he has been right eye-dominant his entire life, has shot bows, shotguns, rifles, etc. with both eyes open without ever having a problem. but, for some unknown reason, that day, his right eye did not "dominate" his vision, his left eye did. could this be what is happening to you? did i explain myself correctly?

You know, that could be a possibility. that would be very weird, but it is possible. I always target shoot with both eyes open, sometimes I catch myself closing my left eye, but there is nothign wrong with that. I am almost positive I made sure I was looking through the peep sight and at at the sight with my right eye. Hmmm.

I was thinking that there is a good chance that I could have been torquing the bow, like Browning_1 says. I should know enough not to torque it, because I shoot so much that I should always hold the bow the same, but maybe because it was so cold and i was wearing bigger glove, I torqued the bow really bad.

I'd guess your grip changed and torqued the bow. It is easy to have happen. I shoot a bowtech extreme VFT and the brace height is pretty short. Slapping the inside of my arm has made me adjust how I hold the bow to avoid the slap. If it is 10 degrees I assume you have gloves on. I posted two weeks ago about shooting my finger while practicing in camp. That arrow was going where it wanted and I was dumbfounded as to why until I noticed that my index finger was bleeding where the blade slid down it. It is something you are doing if the bow shoots bulls when you practice and I'm going with some sort of conflict with your gear and your hunting duds.

Thanks for the reply's guys. Im just gonna have to suck it up, and do my best to make the next one count. I am gonna try another round during late season, starting in the beginning of december. See if I can't redeem myself. I might just buy a new bow by then. I was going to wait til next year, but might as well get one now.
